Dear families and dear friends,

We want to assure you that our priority at all times is the health of our residents and employees. We owe it to ourselves at all costs and without exception to ensure that this objective is achieved. We are all exhausted from Covid-19 but with the arrival of the variants, and the situation in our region, we still have to adjust to keep the nursing home safe.

Family visits will return by appointments only from tomorrow September 16, 2021 for a period of 2 weeks. Visits will be scheduled from Monday to Friday (except holidays) and will be from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.

Two family members can come at the same time and can alternate for the next visit. In addition, we will have to stop visits if a resident is due to be tested for Covid-19 or if a resident has tested positive for Covid-19.

To make an appointment, contact the recreation department at 532-4484 ext. 309. Please give us 2 business days to return the call, as the volume of calls is high.

During your visits, you must always respect the staff’s instructions since compliance with regulations is essential to avoid contamination of residents. If you do not follow the instructions, we may need to ask you to leave and cancel your visits.

• Wash your hands with alcohol gel as soon as you enter the home.

• We will provide you with a surgical mask to wear throughout the visit.

• You will have to answer a symptom screening questionnaire.

• You will need to keep a physical distance of 2 meters from other residents and their families.

• Respect the place assigned to you for visiting your family member, no traffic in the home will be permitted

• Respect the time of your appointment and the visiting time that will be granted to you. Please arrive 15 minutes in advance for the screening.

• Do not visit if you have symptoms of Covid-19.

• Do not visit if you have been in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.

• Do not visit if you have been tested in the past 14 days

• Do not visit if you have been outside of Canada in the past 14 days

We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation and respect of rules and of our staff. We all work together to protect your loved ones who are the most vulnerable in our community.

Thank you Villa Providence team

To all our dear family members:

We know you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and the impact it could have on us at Villa Providence Shediac Inc. Our top priority is to make sure residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment.

To date, there are no positive Covid-19 results in our nursing home and we are working to keep it that way.  We are closed to all visitors until further notice from Public Health. We will not be able to open, even if the province returns to a yellow zone, until we receive the instructions to follow from public health.

We always encourage you to come and see your loved one through their bedroom window, but you should communicate by phone only. No communication should be made through the open window, in order to limit the risks.  The doors of the parks will be open Monday through Friday between 10-4PM to allow you to get to the bedroom window and possibly on the weekend as well.

We will keep you abreast of recommendations from the provincial government as they may continue to evolve. Our nursing home is in close contact with the local public health department and also follows its advice.

Sincerely,
The Villa Providence Shediac Inc team

Testimonials

I want to start by saying that the care and concern for each resident was IMPECCABLE each day of our four day visit in May.  Not only were the care givers as tender toward each resident, but also the same way to my wife and I as visitors.  Everyone was so welcoming to us that it made our visit so much more enjoyable.
