It is important to note that we struggled at times whether to move dad to live closer to us, the deciding factor was always that dad was “home”, he was surrounded by his culture and familiar voices. It wasn’t until last week that we knew just how much this was to be true, it was far more than just culture and familiar voices, it was the gentle caress, caring words, soft kisses and warm embraces that he was able to experience in every moment.

I want to start by saying that the care and concern for each resident was IMPECCABLE each day of our four day visit in May.  Not only were the care givers as tender toward each resident, but also the same way to my wife and I as visitors.  Everyone was so welcoming to us that it made our visit so much more enjoyable.

Dear families and dear friends,


The management team of Villa Providence is proud to announce that following new public health recommendation, we can now accept food (take-out type) or meals prepared at home for your family member.


Food brought in should follow your family member's diet texture recommendation and should be fed only during your visit.  This is only available during the yellow phase. We will not accept any food delivery other than during your visit.


During your visits, you must always respect the staff’s instructions and follow the guidelines:


  • During the yellow phase; food can be brought directly to the resident (take-out food and homemade meals)

  • Wash your hands with alcohol gel as soon as you enter the home.

  • We will provide you with a surgical mask to wear throughout the visit.

  • You will have to answer a symptom screening questionnaire.

  • You will need to have your temperature taken.

  • You will need to keep a physical distance of 2 meters from your family member and other residents or families.

  • Respect the place assigned to you for visiting your family member, no traffic in the home will be permitted

  • Respect the time of your appointment and the visiting time that will be granted to you.  Please arrive 15 minutes in advance for the screening.

  • Do not visit if you have symptoms of Covid-19.

  • Do not visit if you have traveled outside of New Brunswick

  • Do not visit if you are arriving from another province and if you have not self-isolated for 14 days

  • Do not visit if you have been in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.

  • Do not visit if you have been tested in the past 14 days

  • Visit by appointment only (because we must respect the physical distance for visitors too).

  • Washrooms will be closed to visitors unless there is an emergency
